We are delighted to announce that National School Meals Week 2018 starts this week and Grimes Dyke are ready to host this years Powered By School Meals tour on Monday 12th November!
We are delighted to announce that National School Meals Week 2018 starts this week and Grimes Dyke are ready to host this years Powered By School Meals tour on Monday 12th November!
They will be engaging pupils the length and breadth of the country with activities that emphasise the positive effects of a healthy nutritious school meal at lunchtime.On Monday GD will have:
- A ' Scientist’ character demonstrating and educating on fun food facts
- Concentration – A buzz wire where the children concentrate on getting to the end of the puzzle trying not to ‘BUZZ’ the buzzer!
- Attainment – A magnetic puzzle where the children select magnetic pieces from a box and make the design up into a picture
- Energy – Children will be encouraged to take part in some simple exercise, similar to circuit training where there will be a selection of exercises to do.
- Nutrition – A demonstration by a chef from NSMW sponsors Kraft Heinz on choosing the right food to help fuel the school day
Plus our delicious menu on Monday is:
Roast Pork with Mashed Potatoes or Vegetarian Sausage served with a Roasted Vegetable Medley or Daily Salad bar selection or a Hot Roast Baguette, followed by Chocolate Cake or Fruit and Yoghurt
